Santa Fe
Thru The Lens
We'll meet at the obelisk in the center of the Santa Fe Plaza, heart of Santa Fe's historic district. Along
the south edge of the Plaza, you'll have a chance to photograph Indian vendors who market their jewelry and pottery spread out on blankets under the portal of the Palace
of the Governors, the oldest continually used public building in the United States. You'll also have a chance to photograph the mission-style architecture of the Fine
Arts museum and the photogenic courtyard of Sena Plaza. Then we'll visit St. Francis Cathedral (memorialized in Willa Cather's novel, "Death Comes for the Archbishop"),
the gothic Loretto Chapel, and the marble rotunda of the State Capitol Building, known locally as the "Roundhouse." Our walk will include the greenbelt along the Santa
Fe River, the historic De Vargas neighborhood, and winding Canyon Road with its dozens of art galleries. The tour will end back at the Santa Fe Plaza, and you'll receive
a handout listing photography exhibitions currently on view at Santa Fe galleries and museums.
